Drum Your Prayers

A Hands-on, Learning Program for Jewish Men

What Is It?

Drum Your Prayers is a bi-weekly drum, chant and mindfulness online drum class. Each one-hour session will be rooted in Jewish values and will include opportunities for men to check in, to learn some drumming skills and rhythms, and to explore how drumming can help them connect with their deeper selves, to Judaism and to all humanity.

Drum Your Prayers

In this hands-on program, you’ll learn to daven with the drum on your own and at worship services, Hebrew chanting groups, prayer gatherings and drum circles. Find the prayer in percussion with rhythmic explorations that can transport you to an ecstatic davening experience that calls to the depths of your soul. Each session will be loosely based on a theme (such as a text or pearl of Jewish wisdom, mindfulness practice, Mussar, liturgy, Torah, etc.) and will include some drumming technique instruction, listening, reflecting, discussion, breathing and playing.
