Menschwork, Inc. exists for the purpose of developing transformative program models, programs and resources that encourage men to take the bold, next steps in their journeys as empowered Jewish mensches, men of spirit, compassion, integrity, dignity, responsibility and purpose in their families, communities and in the larger world.

Menschwork's Core Values

1. Creating a Sacred Space

We are guided by Jewish traditions, values, texts, and rituals to ignite transformative processes and illuminate personal and collective paths as evolving Jewish men.

2. Fostering Safety in Our Community

We offer a safe, supportive, non-judgmental experience rooted in deep listening, emotional support and compassion. We encourage men to share from their personal history, to take emotional risks in what they share and respect whatever limits any man may set for himself.

3. Encouraging Our Growth as Jewish Men

We provide Jewish men with opportunities to consider how they can grow into their fullness in all aspects of their lives. The intersection of Judaism and men’s lives is our framework for personal growth and for our collective growth as an intentional community of Jewish men. We value the active participation of empowered Jewish men in their home communities and in the wider world.

4. Making Diversity Matter

We promote diverse, inclusive communities by welcoming all Jewish men’s identities and expressions without regard to race, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic status, age, or disability.

5. Mentoring of Leaders

We offer opportunities for men to mentor one another to enhance their personal growth and leadership skills. Our model of leadership is egalitarian, inclusive, collaborative and non-hierarchical. With our strong tradition of mentoring leaders, we welcome men to participate in our planning and organizing activities.

6. Creativity in Our Programming

We encourage organizers to find creative and dynamic ways to plan activities. We honor the groundbreaking work done by past organizing teams and enthusiastically promote innovation and experimentation that enhances participants’ experiences.
