Mussar Offerings

Learn and explore the practice of Mussar.

Mussar is a Jewish spiritual practice that has existed for more than one thousand years. Mussar is based on the precept that true joy can only come as the result of serving the other. The practice helps replace the habits of self-service and self-protection with service to others.

Mussar Practice Workshop

Experience a 5-week study and discussion course from May 1 – 29, 2024,

that can help you cultivate wisdom, deepen your compassion,

and “acquire torah” through the age-old Jewish practice of Mussar.

Guided by the book Heart in Mind, move through your day with increased awareness  and turn everyday moments into rich opportunities for growth and spiritual elevation.

Whether you are new to Mussar or have been practicing for years, the workshop offers an opportunity for men to work on developing their Mussar practice at whatever level they are at, together with other men who will bring and share their own experiences.

Together we will explore how this timeless Jewish practice can guide us to make smart choices that lead to a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

Led by Elliot Myrowitz, the course includes three 90-minute Zoom classes every other week on May 1, May 15 and May 29 — plus two 60-minute dyad calls with your study partner in the alternate weeks during which you’ll explore in depth the chapter and embodiment exercises for the chosen middot or trait you’ve selected to explore.

"Mussar for Mensches was the first time studying Mussar and was a great learning experience. The study group provides me an opportunity to look at old concepts in a new way and, most importantly, to put those qualities into action. Menschwork's program made a major difference in how I see the world and my place in it."
